Where is the Shuswap? Where is The North Shuswap?
Shuswap Lake is situated at the north end of the Okanagan Valley. It has over 1000km of shoreline (over half of which is still undeveloped crown land!), and is home to the infamous Copper Island which is a government park.
It's a boaters paradise, full of uncrowded beaches!
Celista, Ta'Lana Bay and Scotch Creek are situated approximately 50min west of Salmon Arm or 1 hour east of Kamloops. It is part of the unique area known as the North Shuswap. Surrounded by almost all types of recreation (i.e.. biking, hiking, boating, etc...). This quiet little community makes for the perfect retreat for either rest or excess.
Driving to the Shuswap
Coming from the coast? Head up the Coquihalla (Hwy #5) and then east in Kamloops on Highway #1, approximately one hour and follow the signs to Scotch Creek and Anglemont. Keeping to the right, follow up the side of the lake on Squilax - Anglemont Road to your location.
Flying to the Shuswap
Both Kamloops and Kelowna have regularly scheduled airlines. Kelowna is slightly better for connections but is about 2.5 hours away. Kamloops is about 1 hour away. Salmon Arm has flights from Vancouver on Shuswap Air.
